Leadership
At Elim Ryedale we have an army of volunteers who make all that we do possible. We believe every single person has the ability to make a difference and is designed for purpose. We have a leadership team that support, encourage and oversee all that we are doing together and they are a mixture of volunteers and paid staff. Let us introduce ourselves:
Pastor

Andy Boxall and his family moved to Ryedale from Letchworth Garden City in 2006. They enjoy meeting new people, will almost always have a go when faced with new challenges, love church and serving God.
Leaders
Bryan Barrett
Bryan is married to Amanda and together they have two children, James and Lydia. He served in the army for 10 years and now works as a fire fighter in Malton. Golf and football are his top hobbies, along with spending time with his family. He loves God and wants to see the Church rise up and positively influence the community once again.
Steve Camps
Steve, along with his wife Sandra and son Louis, have been part of Elim Ryedale for 12 years. Steve works as a caseworker for a Christian Debt Counselling Charity and Sandra as a Children’s Playgroup Assistant. They enjoy being involved in the life of the church and spending time with family and friends, especially when food is involved!
Schools’ Children’s Worker
Becky Ibbotson
Becky is our part time Primary Schools’ children’s worker and has the enviable job of telling young children about Jesus. She is married to Phil and has two daughters, Rachel and Ruth, who are very supportive and patient as she spends most of her time in the Hope Central building or one of the many Primary Schools in the Ryedale area. Although she is a southerner and sometimes talks with a strange accent, she is forgiven as she has made Malton her home. She excels in all areas of silliness and is reported to have a sense of humour. Please feel free to test this out if you should meet her!

Sara is married to Grace’s son Nick, and they have one daughter, Jess, who is part of the worship team at Elim Ryedale. Sara is the Housing Manager for the local YMCA and has been part of the church for over 20 years. As Nick is a local travel agent, the family enjoys many holidays where Sara can indulge her passion for reading whilst lazing on a sunbed! She particularly enjoys reading God’s word and finds delight in imparting spiritual gems to others.
Grace Abbey
Grace has been married to Mike for almost 50 years and part of Elim Ryedale all her life. They have 2 children, Nick – married to Sara – and Karen – married to Steve – and 3 grandchildren, Megan 19, Jess 17 and Lloyd 15. She loves serving in a growing, vibrant church! Singing, speaking, reading, writing, walking, old films, meeting people are all part of her life as is the ‘Ministry of the Coffee Shop’!!
Youth Leader/Administrator
Mel Benson
Mel is married to Phil (not the same Phil as Becky!) and so far does not have any children of her own on account of her being too young! She was a Secondary School teacher for 13 years and lived life to the full every day through the trials and tribulations of teenagers. In 2010 she came to do ‘a bit of voluntary work’ at Hope Central, loved it so much, she handed in her resignation at school and she’s never left the building since! She loves being part of the Church, is still trying to figure teenagers out and can always be bribed with Cadbury’s chocolate!
Hope Central Café
Andrea Boxall – Manager

Andrea is married to Andy and has two teenage daughters; Lucy-Rose and Jodie. They all moved ‘Up North’ five years ago from the ‘Sunny South.’ Following her life’s philosophy that ‘there is always time for coffee,’ she manages the Hope Central Café providing quality beverages, food and hospitality to the wider community; reflecting her passion for God, coffee and cupcakes! Most days you will find Andrea whisking, blending, making, baking, slicing and decorating edible delights at the café. The café is renowned for being a place of cheerful laughter, so pop in and sample some of the deliciousness to be had and enjoy the jovial, relaxed ambience.
